Three Tucson-area teams with a total of 16 Speed School athletes between them will play this weekend in the state semifinal round, all looking for a chance to play for a state title next weekend. Salpointe leads the way with 11 Speed School athletes, lead by #1-ranked University of Washington commit Matteo Mele and national flag football champion Mario Padilla, and will face #1-seed Sunrise Mountain on Friday.

Pusch Ridge, the 2015 Div. 4 champion, looks to win a title at the 3A level. They are led by two-way captain Kendall Tobin and have a standout young athlete in RB/DB Gavin Davis, and will play Saturday against #4-seed Franklin.

Cienega also looks to bring a title back to Tucson, and hope to get more scoring from bruising RB and starting safey Thomas Webb, Jr. The Bobcats will face #4-seed Notre Dame on Friday.
