It was a very strong 2017 football season for Speed School athletes and teams, with both Salpointe and Pusch Ridge making it to the 4A and 3A state title games. Speed School athletes also fared well statistically speaking, with 4 players finishing in the Top 10 for Southern Arizona. Those players included:
Bobby Heitzinger, Foothills – #6 (Tackles)
Josh Pasos, Salpointe – #9 (Tackles)
Brandon Walker, Empire – #9 (Receiving yards)
Lawrence Prior, Buena – #10 (Rushing yards)
