Baseball Playoffs: 7 Athletes Looking for Titles

Seven Desert Speed School athletes have advanced in the state baseball playoffs, most notably Efrain Cervantes and Daniel Durazo of Salpointe, whose Lancer team defeated #1 seed Nogales. Salpointe got clutch hitting in the game from both athletes, with Durazo (above) scoring in the 6th inning for the Lancers and Cervantes going 2-2 at the plate in the game. In other baseball action, Leland Haussman (Empire), Tate Jernigan (Catalina Foothills), also advanced with their teams to the next round, while Mike Synder, Dylan Dalrymple, and Preston Clifford of #1-ranked Sabino await their first round matchup on May 4th.
