Desert Speed School athlete Zach Mattas has earned the #8 spot on the Arizona Daily Star‘s list of top high school football players in the region. He goes into the season having spent the off-season preparing to make the transition this year from defensive line to linebacker. Already one of the strongest players on the field with a 500-lb. squat and 375 bench, Mattas worked during the spring and summer to improve his speed and agility, dramatically lowering his shuttle and 40-times.
