Padilla’s 3 TDs, 2 INT Seals Game for Salpointe

Desert Speed School athlete and Salpointe two-way star Mario Padilla was key in the Lancer’s first game of the 2018 season, a back-and-forth affair against Desert Edge. Salpointe ultimately came out on top, but it took touchdown runs of 61, 17, and 4 yards by Padilla to stay in the game.

Desert Edge looked to even things up late in the game, but two interceptions by Padilla in the last several minutes of action eventually sealed the game for the 4A powerhouse Salpointe, which goes on to face El Paso Del Valle next week. Fellow Desert Speed School athlete Trent Strong also added 10 tackles for the Lancers to help anchor what is expected to be one of the top defensive units this season. Full story…
