A total of 21 Speed School athletes were recognized for their strong performances in the 2014-15 Winter season, headlined by Salpointe keeper Taylor Anderson and Empire’s Deion James, each of whom earned Player of the Year recognition for their respective sports.
Anderson, who was named AllSportsTucson’s co-Player of the Year for D-II soccer, was a four-year starter in goal for the Lancers and has signed a letter-of-intent with Pima College for the upcoming 2015 collegiate season. Meanwhile, James was named the runner-up Player of the Year by The Arizona Daily Star. The career record-holder in scoring at Empire, he has committed to North Carolina A&T.
