As reported by Andy Morales of AZPreps365, Salpointe softball defeated cross-town rival Mica Mountain at Hillenbrand Stadium in front of home crowds for both teams to win the 4A State Championship. Speed School athlete Peaches Sztan knocked in a run in the 5th with a single and would later score to give the Lancers a 3-2 lead, which they would later extend for a 4-2 win.
In addition to Sztan, the Salpointe roster includes Speed School athletes Taylor Basken, Lexi Corella, Addi Wild, and Cierra Aguilar, while runner-up Mica Mountain has standout sophomore Caeli Shellenbarger starting at 3rd base for the Bolts.
