As reported by Andy Morales of AZPreps365, the Tanque Verde softball team defeated crosstown rival and 3A powerhouse Empire on Friday in the 3A semifinal game, sending the Hawks to today’s state championship game against #5 Yuma Catholic. Tanque Verde took a 3-1 lead in the 3rd off runs from Speed School athletes Ella Haggard and Mikaela Jackson. Jackson would score again in the 5th inning, and also add two RBI in the 7th, among them fellow Speed School athlete Lizzy Pratt. Full story…
