Desert Speed School alum Nick Gonzales was recently called up to the majors by the Pittsburgh Pirates and wasted no time in putting the ball into play, notching two home runs to go along with a double and a triple in the last two weeks. Following somewhat of a slow start in his debut game, Gonzales has been on a hot streak since then, hitting .316 in his last six games (pirates.com).
