As fitting for the month of March, the Sabino softball program qualified for the championship of the Badger Invitational as a #6-seed – the lowest possible – and proceeded to go on a tear all the way to the championship game, eventually losing to champion Salpointe. The Sabercats got timely hitting from Hannah Stark and Cassie Castaneda throughout the tournament and championship game. A third Speed School athlete, Aaliyah Pendleton, is also on the Sabino roster.
