Salpointe girls soccer had to win three consecutive overtime games in PKs to eventually come out on top at the Brandon Bean preseason tournament. Consistently a top tournament that is often a predictor of state championship matchups, the tournament saw the Lancers defeat Catalina Foothills, Sahuaro, and then Cienega for the title. Speed School athletes Sophia Sethi (Salpointe) and Peyton Middleton (Cienega) each scored in the championship game for their respective squads, with Sethi’s PK the clincher for Salpointe. Full story…
