The 20th Annual MLK Classic took place earlier this week at McKale Center, with three Desert Speed School-led teams in action on the University of Arizona home court. Desert Christian sophomore guard Tyson Dobbins led his Eagles team with 16 points in a 53-39 win over Benson. DCHS is currently ranked #3 at the 1A level.

At the 3A level, Tanque Verde won convincingly over Catalina 77-27. The Hawks include Speed School athletes Andrew Smith, Grayson Green, Rocco Haggard, Eli Clausen, and Grayson The on their roster.
In the last game of the day, Sahuaro won their matchup against Pueblo 63-31. One of the top teams in the state, the Cougars were led in scoring by Speed School athletes Cisco Llamas (13 points), Jamal Ali (11), Julian Yazon (9), and Nick Ponds (8).
