The high school state XC meets ran on Saturday at the Cave Creek Golf Course, with five Speed School athletes competing. For the girls, Mica Mountain’s Madi Vigil was the top finisher (20th overall), helping lead her Bolts to at 3rd place team finish. Tanque Verde’s Siena Contreras (141st) and Kadynce Drummond (162nd) competed for their Hawks team. On the boys’ side, CatFoot’s Parker Gradillas finished 28th overall, with Sabino’s Caleb Hymson (216th) also competing.
At the middle school level, Emily Gray’s Finley Johnson (6th) and The Leman Academy’s Isa Portillo (10th) ended their seasons with Top-10 finishes at the state meet, held November 1st at Boulder Creek HS.
