Athlete overcomes ACL injury to sign collegiately

Senior lineman Marcus Edwards highlighted the festivities at Sabino High School on National Signing Day, as his step to the collegiate level represented both athletic and personal success, having overcome a devastating knee injury that kept him out of his entire senior year.

Edwards’ injury, which occurred in a routine summer practice prior to the 2014 session, did not dampen the enthusiasm the Navy coaches had for him, and he signed his letter-of-intent with the Academy earlier today. He was joined by his coaches and five teammates also signing with their respective colleges.
