Desert Speed School athlete – and three-time state champion as part of the powerhouse Ironwood Ridge girls’ golf program – Makenna Brown has committed to play collegiately for the Colorado Christian University golf program. As reported by the university:

With the continued upward trajectory in the program, the Colorado Christian women’s golf team is excited to welcome a pair of newcomers to its roster for the 2022-23 school year.

During the fall commitment period, the Cougars got two solid players from the Grand Canyon State as the duo of Makenna Brown and Raya Schulz will be joining the program.

“Really pleased we were able to snag Makenna and Raya. They both will be so positive for our program in terms of culture and competitiveness,” said head coach Phil Nelson. “They are on the rise with their skill level and I am excited to continue their process of development here at CCU. Both exhibit a high level of athleticism, speed off the tee, and high work ethic. They also come from a highly competitive state so they will transition well to our travel schedule and competitive culture.”
