As reported by the Arizona Daily Star, Desert Speed School athlete Jacob Charlson and his CDO teammates defended their 2022 state championship with a 4-1 win over 2nd-ranked Scottsdale Saguaro to win the 2023 4A State Title. Originally starting the season at just 7-7, the Dorados rallied to a strong second half of the season, entering the state playoffs having won 11 of 12 and ultimately going undefeated in the postseason to take the title.
