Cienega girls volleyball swept Salpointe 3-0 earlier this week in a clash of top volleyball programs. The Salpointe defeat was the first home loss for the Lancers to a Southern Arizona team in nearly three years, according to Andy Morales of AZPreps365.
Cienega was helped by timely serving from Speed School athlete Bianca Ramirez, who at one point rattled off 5 straight points for the Bobcats. Along with Ramirez, the Cienega girls team has nine Speed School athletes on their roster: Kylie Sachs, Gabby Lambert, Madison Copelin, Hannah Morris, Taylor Milbourn, Olivia McFarland, Faith Young, and Elizabeth Heaslett.
