With the fall sports seasons completed, 40 Desert Speed School athletes were recognized by various media outlets for their performances. The list was highlighted by all-around success on the football field by Sabino’s Michael Masunas and Sahuarita’s Cristian Gonzales, each of whom were named as All-Star selections at multiple positions. Meanwhile, four girls’ volleyball players earned various Player of the Year honors: Mountain View’s Destiny Pundt, Empire’s Sophia Vera, St. Augustine’s Anjolie Navarrete, and Walden Grove’s Jasmin Joseph. Salpointe freshman Kylie Wild also earned Player of the Year honors coming off a strong 5th-place state finish.
