Desert Speed School athletes Carmen Cordova and Shelby Thompson were part of an Ironwood Ridge softball team that took 3rd at one of the top high school tournaments in the southwest. For her part, Cordova hit two home runs in the tournament, according to Andy Morales of AllSportsTucson. The 5A state champion Nighthawks will face another test this week against another Speed School athlete in Jordy Johnson and her 4A state champion Salpointe team. Full story…
