With teams from across the state competing, Salpointe’s Lancer Invitational is tends to bring out some of the top mid-season competition from around Arizona, and this year’s meet was no exception – with strong performances from Speed School athletes.
Sabino’s Ava and Emarie Sooter had some of the top performances in the field events, taking 1st and 2nd, respectively, in the pole vault competition. On the track, Catalina Foothills junior Paden Hall was dominant in the sprints, winning the boys’ 400m and teaming up with fellow Speed School athlete Kyle Cagno to win the 4×400 relay. Meanwhile, standout distance runner Kylie Wild – the defending state champion in the 1600/3200 – showed off her speed in winning the girls’ 800m.
