Navarrete Named All-Conference For Cameron University

Desert Speed School athlete Arianna Navarrete was recently named an All-Conference selection for Cameron University. As reported by the University:

For the second-straight year Cameron volleyball student-athlete Arianna Navarrete was named to the Lone Star Conference All-Academic team as the league handed out the end-of-season awards on Wednesday night.

Navarrete, a third-year player from Tucson, Ariz., was one of 14 players from around the conference named to the 2021 LSC All-Academic team including the Academic Player of the Year Sophia Berg from Angelo State. Cameron’s outside also earned the honor during the shortened spring 2021 season.

In addition to getting selected to the All-Academic team, Navarrete was also named All-LSC Honorable Mention, just missing out on a spot on the second team. The psychology major led the Aggies with 3.43 points per set this fall, averaging 2.87 kills and 2.32 digs per set while also totaling 29 service aces 48 blocks.

Navarrete closed out the season with four-straight 10+ kill matches playing alongside her younger sister Anjolie Navarrete. The elder sister totaled 14 double-digit kill matches during the season and had four double-doubles (kills-digs). One of her best matches of the season came against OC when she totaled a career-best 20 kills and had 17 digs, three aces, and three blocks in a five-set thriller.

During the 2021 spring season, Navarrete was named to the All-LSC team as there were not first, second, or honorable mention teams specified.
