Desert Speed School athlete and Tanque Verde grad Jasmin Joseph, now a standout for Pima College, was recently named the ACCAC Division II Defensive Player of the Week, following a 3-0 stretch for the Aztecs which included wins over nationally-ranked teams.

The Aztecs went 3-0 with two wins over nationally ranked teams: No. 15 Mesa Community College and No. 6 Scottsdale community College. Joseph totaled 70 digs, 13 assists and 10 aces in three matches last week. Her biggest match was at Chandler-Gilbert Community College when she posted 27 digs and five aces. She leads the team with 191 digs and averages 4.34 per set over 11 matches and 44 sets played this season.
