As reported by Javier Morales of AllSportsTucson, Desert Speed School athletes Brody Bangert and Ben Lambe were part of a Pusch Ridge team that completed a historic boys’ basketball season, winning the 3A State Championship on Saturday. Pusch entered the state tournament as a long-shot, needing to win a play-in game to qualify as an 11-seed, but ran the table to win the title – including a semifinal win over #1 Florence. The Lions capitalized on hot shooting guards and stiff defense to defeat crosstown rival Palo Verde 69-46 (avenging a regular-season loss to the Titans in January).
