One of the top local basketball events every year, the MLK Classic at McKale Center pits some of the top boys and girls teams against one another. Two of the top 3A girls teams in the state picked up big wins at the Classic, with Tanque Verde picking up a 46-40 win over CDO and Sabino winning 62-50 over Sahuaro – one of the top 4A teams in the state. Sabino has added Speed School athlete Kiya Dorroh to an already strong roster and was eagerly anticipating the Sahuaro matchup.
