With the high school playoffs around the corner, Desert Speed School athletes and Salpointe standouts Emma Veliz and EC Cazares have their Lancer team positioned in line to qualify for the inaugural Open Division beginning next week. As reported by Andy Morales of AZPreps365, Salpointe squared off against the 4A defending state champions Walden Grove recently, battling the Wolves to a tie in what could be a preview of a playoff matchup (full story HERE). Currently ranked #2, the Lancers would qualify for the Open Division in their current position.
