Desert Speed School athletes Emma Veliz and EC Cazares were part of the Salpointe team that won their 10th girls’ soccer state championship recently with a 2-1 win over a tough Walden Grove team. As reported by Andy Morales, the Lancers found themselves in an early deficit to Walden Grove, but ultimately came back with two goals to secure the title.
In spite of the championship game loss, Walden Grove is considered one of the top young teams in Southern Arizona under third-year head coach Troy Bosley and will likely be a top contender next season. Full story…
