A number of Desert Speed School volleyball players competed recently in the Lancer Fall Classic, hosted by Salpointe. As reported by Javier Morales of AllSportsTucson, the championship showdown featured #1 and #2 seeds Salpointe and Rincon/UHS going head-to-head in a three-set match, with the host Salpointe prevailing 15-6 in the third set.
Desert Speed School athletes Megan Muehlebach, Leila Lowther, and Gabriella Monge were part of the Salpointe tournament victory, while the runner-up Rincon/UHS team included Speed School athletes Sophia Lee and Delaney Reuter.
In addition, Tanque Verde senior Jasmin Joseph was named to the All-Tournament Team.
