Desert Speed School athlete and UCLA men’s soccer standout Tommy Silva was recently honored for his on-field and classroom performance, as he was named Academic All-District by College Sports Communications. From the team media release:
Silva has been a standout on the field and in the classroom ever since arriving on campus. He’s been named to the Pac-12 All-Conference Team in each of his three seasons in Westwood, including Second Team honors in each of the last two campaigns, and has qualified for the UCLA Director’s Honor Roll each quarter he’s been on campus. Silva was men’s soccer’s representative on last year’s UCLA All-Academic Team, as the student-athlete in the program with the highest cumulative GPA. The Tucson, Ariz. native has recorded 32 points (9-14-32) over 48 career games with the Bruins.
