Desert Speed School athlete and UCLA defender Tommy Silva was recently named to the CSC Academic All-District Team, according to a university press release.
Silva has been a standout on the field and in the classroom ever since arriving on campus. He’s been named to the Pac-12 All-Conference Team in all four of his seasons in Westwood, including Second Team honors in each of the last three campaigns, and has qualified for the UCLA Director’s Honor Roll each quarter he’s been on campus. Silva was also named the Pac-12 men’s soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year back on November 17. Additionally, Silva was men’s soccer’s representative on last year’s UCLA All-Academic Team, as the student-athlete in the program with the highest cumulative GPA. The Tucson, Ariz. native has recorded 43 points (9-23-41) over 69 career games (68 starts) with the Bruins.
