Desert Speed School athletes from two local teams will square off in the 3A softball state championship semifinals this week, with a trip to the title game on the line. As reported by AllSportsTucson, Morgan Faunce and her Empire team advanced to the semifinal round with a 3-2 win over #2 Bourgade Catholic, while Tanque Verde (Chloe Hotchkiss, Shea Reilly, Lizzy Pratt) won their quarterfinal matchup handily with a 10-2 win over #3 Snowflake. The two Tucson-area teams will play locally at Amphi High School on Friday night, with the winner advancing to the state title game next week.
