Congratulations to Jenna Johnson, Claire Dunn, and Hiliana Mizner – members of the 2016 4A State Championship Salpointe volleyball team. The #6-ranked Lancers were considered an outside shot entering the tournament, but defeated #4 Greenway in four sets to win the title.
The win breaks a 23-year Southern Arizona state championship drought for volleyball at the 4A or 5A level, and also makes Johnson, Dunn, and Mizner the first Speed School athletes to claim state championships in the 2016-2017 school year. Full story…
