Desert Speed School athlete and standout distance runner Kylie Wild of Salpointe showed her range in events on the track at the state championship meet last week. Wild, the 2020 cross-country champion in the fall, won both the 3200m along with the 1600m events in convincing fashion. In addition, she helped her 4×800 relay team to a 2nd-place finish and took 3rd overall in the 800m. Her Lancers finished 3rd in the team standings.

On the boys’ side, fellow Salpointe mid-distance runner Michael Urbankski finished 8th in the 1600m to score points towards the boys’ 4th overall finish.
