As reported by Kevin Murphy of AllSportsTucson, the Tanque Verde football team used a 20-point 4th quarter to pick up a big win against the top 2A San Pedro Region team Bisbee, anchored defensively in large part by Speed School athlete Eli Clausen.

Meanwhile, Senior RB/LB Gavin Gilbert continued his streak of big games, rushing for 172 yards and 2 TD, then picking up 12 tackles on the defensive side of the ball. Gilbert currently leads Arizona in tackles for loss with 24, according to MaxPreps. The 26-8 win over Bisbee now ties the program record for season wins, and puts Tanque Verde atop the Region standings. With two games to go in the season, Tanque Verde controls its destiny.
