Desert Speed School athletes Gisselle Vergara and Sophia Vera and their Empire volleyball squad recently completed the TUSD Invitational with an unblemished record, defeating a strong Rincon/UHS team in the championship game. Empire is now 9-0 on the year.
For her part, Vera was named to the All-Tournament team, along with fellow Speed School athletes Sophia Lee of Rincon/UHS along with Tanque Verde’s Jasmin Joseph. Full story…
