As reported by Javier Morales of AllSportsTucson, top-ranked Salpointe softball had been eagerly anticipated a mid-season matchup against rival CDO, and the Lancer bats did not disappoint. Taking on a Dorados team that was 22-1 on the season and was coming into the game on a 10-game winning streak, the Lancers exploded offensively, thanks in large part to some of the Speed School athletes on the Salpointe roster: Logan Cole went 4-4 at the plate, Krista Martinez went 2-3, including a three-run home run, and Jordy Johnson added a sacrifice fly to score teammate Anyssa Wild.
The offensive firepower resulted in a 14-3 Salpointe win in 5 innings, improving to 18-2 overall and 3-0 in their division.
