While the remainder of the high school spring season may be in jeopardy, Speed School athletes have nonetheless posted strong early-season times on the track. In the just one or two meets that teams have been able to compete in, Salpointe’s Benji Thomas has hit state-qualifying times in the 800m and 1600m, taking 1st in those events at the Mountain View and Salpointe Invites, respectively.
Meanwhile, Sasha Ganem and her Salpointe 4×100 team took 1st at the Mountain View Invite with a state-qualifying time, and Connor Cagno won the 400m at the same meet.
