Seven Desert Speed School athletes will be competing for track & field state titles this week. On the boys’ side, Catalina Foothills standout sprinters Connor Cagno (400m, 200m) and Paden Hall (200m) represent their Falcons’ team, while Foothills teammate Alexis Saffer will compete in the 100m hurdles on the girls’ side.
Salpointe’s distance runners will have a busy meet, with Michael Urbanski and defending cross-country state champion Kylie Wild each running the 800m, 1600m, and 3200m for the Lancers.
In field events, both Sabino’s Emarie Sooter (pole vault) and Pusch Ridge’s Phillip Raica (shot put) each represent their respective schools.
