It will be a battle of Speed School athletes against one another at Mountain View High School Wednesday night, with the 4A Girls State Championship on the line. Cross-town rivals and soccer powerhouses Salpointe and Catalina Foothills square off, and it will pit Lancers Kate Connelly, Sydney Lenhart, Grace Kaufman-Fuller, and Catalina Alvarado against the Falcons’ Becca Burrows, Hannah Draper, Sophie Fell, Dania Shabat, and Emma Nance.
Salpointe is the defending state champion, although Catalina Foothills’ took the regular season match between the programs in January, winning 3-2. Good luck to all players on both sides.
