Desert Speed School athletes are off to a strong start as the high school football season gets underway, with five players being named to the Preseason Watch List before Week 1 games kicked off last week. Salpointe teammates Thomas Regina and Roman Fina – a recent Duke University commit – were recognized for the Lancers. In the first game against Marana, Regina was named a Top Performer after notching 8 tackles. Meanwhile, Catalina Foothills teammates Henry Nentl and Sean Brown were also named to the Preseason List for their Falcons team.
Across town, Sabino linebacker Kai Crawford was named a Top Performer after amassing 5 tackles for his Sabercats team in a rivalry game against Sahuaro.
Finally, Desert Speed School athlete Tyson Dobbins helped make history for his Desert Christian team, as the Eagles played – and won – their first-ever game in school history. Dobbins scored a 2-pt. conversion to help lead Desert Christian to the historic victory.
