A number of Desert Speed School athletes and their teams are one step closer to a state championship after advancing in the state playoffs over the weekend. First up on the schedule are Sabino’s Kiya Dorroh and Ella Berg, who take on Chinle in quarterfinal action later tonight.
On the soccer pitch, the Lady Nighthawks of Ironwood Ridge have advanced to the 5A Championship Game, and Speed School athletes Lexi Los, Alicia Geraci, and Katie Jeffers will be part of the action. Meanwhile, Catalina Foothills and their large contingent of Speed School athletes (Hannah Draper, Dania Shabat, Becca Burrows, Sophie Fell, Flavia Burrell, Emma Nance) will play for the 4A title Tuesday night.
